What is a Visibility Score?

Your listing’s visibility score is a benchmark that compares your listing's daily views with thousands of other listings on Etsy.

Early on, eRank members asked us how to tell if their listings were performing well compared to other Etsy listings. So we created the visibility score metric. It compares your listing's average daily views with thousands of random listings on Etsy.

Note: your listing's visibility score reflects its performance since it was created. It does not impact the quality score that Etsy assigns your listing. Nor does it reflect its search rank.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What’s considered a low visibility score?

Anything below 25 is low. However, that may not be bad, especially if you are selling a product that is new, unique, or in a narrow niche.

2. Why is my listing's visibility score low?

There can be several reasons. Consider whether your listing

  • is very new

  • has a low conversion rate

  • is so niche that shopper demand is low

  • has a main image that doesn’t entice people to click on it

3. Why do my listings' visibility scores change over time?

Your listings' visibility scores will change as your listings' average daily views increase or decrease. Visibility scores for new listings will change much faster than those for older listings.

4. How often do visibility scores refresh?

Your listings' visibility scores refresh whenever you click a "Refresh" button in one of our tools AND whenever you audit a listing using our Listing Audit tool.
