1. Use Keyword Tool to see how popular keywords are on Etsy

In the Main Menu, select "Keyword Research" and then "Keyword Tool." Type any keyword into the "Enter Keywords" field in the search bar and use the dropdown menu on the right to select which country you would like to view data from. Select "GLO" to view global data. Then, click the green lookup button to view that term's keyword data.

Scroll down to the “Keyword Ideas” table to view the keyword’s search data. You can also view search data for related terms. Look for keywords with a relatively high number of average monthly searches and a relatively low amount of Etsy competition. Make sure that the keywords you choose accurately describe your product.

2. Use Top Sellers and Shop Info to get inspiration (and tag ideas!) from successful shops

In the Main Menu, select "Competitor Research" and then "Top Sellers." Here, you can view a list of the top-selling shops on Etsy. Use the stats provided for each shop to gain insight into their success. Select your shop’s category in the “Categories” dropdown menu above the report to view high-traffic shops in your business’s niche.

Click the name of any shop in the report or type any shop’s name into the field above the report and click the green "Analyze" button to learn more about its history and sales traffic via our Shop Info feature. Scroll down to the “Listings” section to view the shop’s most recently sold or updated listings along with their tags. Click any tag that you think may be useful in your shop to open Keyword Tool and view its search data.

3. Use Trend Buzz to find trending keywords

In the Main Menu, click "Trends" and then "Trend Buzz." This feature gives you daily, weekly, and monthly updates on some of the most popular marketplaces' most searched terms. eRank updates Trend Buzz daily.

Select “Etsy” from the dropdown menu above the report. Then select a country and a timeframe from the two dropdown menus within the report. eRank recommends viewing data for the past 30 days to assess trending search terms. Scroll down the page and look for keywords that align with your items. Use the interactive “Search Trend” column on the right to find relevant terms with either stable or steadily increasing average monthly searches.
