Trend Buzz helps you discover what keywords are trending on Etsy and other popular marketplaces. eRank updates Trend Buzz daily. We flag the most popular search terms from the previous day and list the Top 100 most-searched terms for Etsy and a variety of other marketplaces.

Benefits

This feature gives you daily, weekly, and monthly updates on some of the most popular marketplaces' most searched terms.

Trend Buzz also helps you improve keyword SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for your listings and gives you insight into why your shop’s traffic may have increased or decreased during certain times of the year.

Use this knowledge to stay ahead of trends and plan what to stock during different seasons.

How to use

There are two ways to access this feature.

  1. In the Main Menu, click "Trends" and then "Trend Buzz."

  2. Alternatively, you can click the "Hot!" button at the top of your eRank dashboard.

Use like a top 20 chart

The report displays the most popular keywords that shoppers are searching for on Etsy and in many other e-commerce and brick-and-mortar marketplaces. Use the dropdown menu above the list to find the marketplace you'd like to research.

Come back each day (after 9 AM EST) to see if these keywords are one-offs or part of an ongoing trend. Free members can view the top 10 keywords for each marketplace while paying members can view the top 100 keywords for each marketplace.

Choose and filter data

Choose a marketplace from the dropdown menu above the list.

Then, use the first dropdown menu at the top of the list to select which country you would like to view data from. Please note that the variety of countries we are able to provide data for differs between marketplaces.

Use the second dropdown menu at the top of the list to select a timeframe.

For the 30-day timeframe, this feature also lists the following information for Etsy (however, this information is specific to the US):

  • Most searched colors

  • Top 100 most searched Products

  • Most searched Recipients

  • Top 100 most searched Styles

  • Top 100 most searched Materials

Please note that if you change your timeframe to anything less than 30 days, you will only be able to view the top keywords.

Click the "Columns" button on the right side of the page to choose the data you'd like to view. Click and drag any column to change its position in the list below.

The interactive trend graphs in the "Search Trend" column under the "Keywords" tab (available for select marketplaces) display each keyword’s changes in popularity over the past 15 months. Hover your cursor over the bars of any keyword's graph to see how its search volume has changed over the past 15 months. From this data, you can get a sense of a keyword’s seasonality and whether it is becoming more or less popular.

View which keywords are gaining popularity and which are losing popularity In the "Change" column on the far right. Increases in popularity are denoted in green, while decreases are denoted in red.

Under the remaining 5 tabs, use the Relative Popularity column to compare the popularity of the different terms.

Utilize keywords and export data

Click on any keyword to navigate to our Keyword Tool feature, where you can perform a detailed analysis of the top 100 listings found in Etsy search for that specific term.

Click the star next to any keyword to add it to your most recently edited keyword list. Click the three dots to the right of any star to view all of your lists. Here, you can add the term to or remove it from any list using the checkboxes on the left. You can also create new lists and delete lists you no longer need.

If you are a Basic member, Pro member, or Expert member, click the "Export" button on the right side of the page to export, copy, or print the list of keywords for future reference.
